The New Orleans native is also a composer, actress, mother, doula and child advocate who likens her creative process to childbirth — difficult but fruitful. In 2017, she released her debut album, The Greenhouse Effect, which she released in 2019. In 2022, she will perform at internationally renowned events New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and French Quarter Fest. Her 2021 appearances include a headlining gig at Three Keys inside the Ace Hotel and a cameo on musician Joshua Starkman’s viral Instagram series, Have A Great Day. Caren has also performed for the Jazz & Heritage Foundation and at the House of Blues in New Orleans.

In 2015, she released the single “Air I Breathe,” for which the music video has garnered nearly 10,000 views on YouTube. Green has worked with legendary No Limit Records rapper Mia X and acclaimed rapper Dee-1 and has appeared at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, The National Fried Chicken Festival, the Tank and the Bangas Backyard Hangout, Bayou Boogaloo and performed a duet with Grammy-winning musician PJ Morton at the House of Blues in New Orleans. In 2018, Green was named the winner of the “Sing Like a Star” television show and has performed at the National Black Fireman’s Association Convention, the ESSENCE Welcome to My City House, the New Orleans Women and Children’s Shelter Gala and more. Armed with a desire to inspire others to share their light with the world and dream big, Green places authenticity and timelessness at the forefront of her artistry. “I am on assignment to affect people and their lives, to provoke change,” she says. Using words like “pensive” and “light bearing” to describe her music, the singer inspired by everything from gospel to hip-hop, jazz and classical music credits everyone from Stevie Wonder, Jill Scott and Nina Simone to Steve Jobs and Ava DuVernay as inspirations. Story-telling and struggle are often focal points of her work, which she attributes to her relationship with God and life experiences. Green also sources inspiration from individuals who make power moves for their families, creating positive change for future generations with social and political impact. It only takes one person or one song to affect such change, a mantra she keeps in mind before taking to the stage. “Darkness always wants what shines real bright,” she says. “You can smother the fire, but the right spark can ignite. Be the light!”

Kris Baptiste

Kris Baptiste

About Kris Baptiste

New Orleans singer, songwriter and rapper Kris Baptiste is an emergent voice whose talent is inspired by the jazz, rhythm & blues and hip-hop stylings of his hometown. Though an influential backdrop, the city of New Orleans is but one aspect of his sound, which is universal in its appeal and has landed him spots as an opening act for internationally acclaimed artists including J. Cole, Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, Jagged Edge, 112, Monica, Chief Keef and more. He has performed on stages including the National Fried Chicken Festival, Fan Fest at Champions Square, the House of Blues, the UNO Lakefront Arena, the Frederick J. Sigur Civic Center and the Sugar Mill.

Citing Michael Jackson, Eminem, Usher and Chris Brown as inspirations, Kris Baptiste credits the discipline and molding provided by his family as the source of his ambitions. He prides himself on being an adaptable musician, eager and able to shape his work to reflect myriad styles. His family history has also resulted in a pursuit for generational wealth, primarily in the realms of creative control and freedom. Above all else, he seeks to imbue his music with relatable notes of everyday life, embracing the beauty of every moment, good or bad. Much of his early musical foundation was fostered in talent shows, at which Baptiste frequently earned awards.

In 2012, he released his debut mixtape, Just Shut Up & Listen, a 16-track project executive produced by Raj Smoove, a fellow New Orleans musician dubbed by Lil Wayne to be “the Greatest DJ in the World.” In the years since, Baptiste has released several singles and music videos including “Island” and “Rosé.”

Now, Raj Smoove and Kris Baptiste are embarking on a new chapter of Baptiste’s musical development, reviving the partnership which made Just Shut Up & Listen his best work to date. Baptiste’s reintroduction of sorts is “Rest Of My Life,” a New Orleans bounce-infused love song written by S-8ighty and recently featured on legendary New Orleans radio station Q93 FM.

Baptiste describes himself as a “hybrid artist” whose 2020 plans aim to keep listeners guessing. “I could do a country song, I could do a bounce song, I could do whatever,” he says.

Hasizzle

Hasizzle

About Hasizzle

HaSizzle is the pulsating thump and the vivaciousness known as Bounce music. Never heard of him? Then you’ve probably never been to New Orleans. To save you the trip, I suggest turning on Drake’s “Child’s Play” to hear his voice being sampled.

“She rode that **** like a soulja.” But Drake’s recognition is only the tip of the iceberg for HaSizzle, who’s been making music for nearly 15 years.”Bounce music is 100% party music. Meaning, dance music… that Pop/Rock  booty shaking sound that you rejoice in and enjoy yourself. I want the world to know that no matter what type of Bounce song you hear, slow or fast, you’re gonna have a good time.”

His charming, Southern personality is so refreshing that non-natives forget the faux-pas of asking about Hurricane Katrina.  “I’m out the Calliope, and I was raised all over New orleans. The jungle was the name of the hood. In the song I have, where I say ‘she rode it like jungle soulja’, that was for the girls in the hood.”

HaSizzle is the magic of New Orleans personified; he refuses to let tragedies drown his spirit—this reverberates through his music. The title of his latest Album The Voice 4 Church of Twerk, is also another example of his fabulous uniqueness. Not only is Getcha Sum ,” a single off of the Album, a radio  and club banger in his city, it also is has a full signal regarding popularity when you search it on all digital music sites.

DeeLow Diamond Man

Deelow Diamond Man

About DeeLow Diamond Man

“I wake up in the morning thinking about creating something,” says DeeLow The Diamond Man.

The producer, rapper, app designer, jeweler and entertainer’s CV is proof of his creativity. Calling him an entrepreneur would be apt, but also reductive. He’s more so a person on a perennial pursuit of fulfillment, and he just so happens to find it while creating.

Raised in the 7th Ward of New Orleans, Louisiana, DeeLow is one half of noted production duo MonstaBeatz. Along with his cohort Jean Lephare, DeeLow has produced records for or worked directly with Lil Wayne, Curren$y, Wiz Khalifa, Nipsey Hussle, Styles P, Jadakiss, The Migos’ Takeoff, French Montana, Jadakiss, Styles P, The Cool Kids, and many more.

Thanks to a resourceful mother, DeeLow was enlisted in talent shows at a young age. He was in school bands and was a dancer (though, back in his school days, they called it “flexin’”). It was in 1998 when he began pursuing music production, after surviving a bad car accident which left him with five screws and a plate in his arm. At the time, he was surrounded by friends who were rapping, but that didn’t immediately appeal to him. Instead, he took inspiration from Unc, a local producer who sold DeeLow his equipment for $1,000. That purchase became a hearty investment in his future, as did the countless hours he spent indoors, mastering the craft of beatmaking.

After high school, DeeLow moved to New York City. Eventually, he began writing verses. “I didn’t even rap, but people would just tell me to hop on the hook because I had so much personality,” he says. It was then he became The Diamond Man. DeeLow became a full-time rapper who simultaneously made beats. He and Jean, who was also in New York City, merged their collective talents to form MonstaBeatz.

Like countless other New Orleanians, DeeLow’s life was punctuated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He moved back home, with production as his main focus. In 2009, MonstaBeatz produced Curren$y’s first digital release, This Ain’t No Mixtape and eventually went on to work with him extensively, including full production work on 2011’s Weekend At Burnie’s and inclusion on a Jet Life tour the same year. Also in 2009, MonstaBeatz produced Lil Wayne’s “I’m Good,” which appeared on the rapper’s No Ceilings mixtape.

MonstaBeatz crossed paths with former members of Sqad Up, a rap group featuring a young Lil Wayne. The duo produced a mixtape for both Supa Blanco and Lucci Lou. Supa Blanco’s Doin Numbers featured “I Bet I Do,” which gave MonstaBeatz their first placement on BET, in 2010. They also produced Lucci Lou’s Mr. Pharmaceutical mixtape.

In 2018, Lil Wayne released the MonstaBeatz-produced “Vizine.” The duo also produced Takeoff’s 2018 song “Last Memory.”

Now, DeeLow is preparing for the summer 2019 release of an ambitious solo project, Good Vibes: Diamond Edition. It builds upon his Good Vibes mixtape released in 2018, but is not necessarily a sequel. Featuring Curren$y, Mannie Fresh, Smoke DZA, Young Roddy and more, it’s a case study in DeeLow’s lifelong drive to create and uplift.

“This project is good energy,” he says. “Long story short, it all comes down to your energy. If you’re putting out bad energy, you’re going to receive bad energy. If you’re putting out good energy, you’re going to receive good energy. Even when I’m down, you’re not going to see me down. I’m at the point where nothing can bring me down. I’m way 2 up!”
